Department Of Mechanical Engineering

 

The Department of” Mechanical Engineering" at Gandhi Institute For Education & Technology (GIET) was established in the year 2009 with the approval of AICTE having intake of 60 seats. The intake capacity is increased to 120 in the year 2011 and 180 from 2012 onwards. The Post Graduation is in Mechanical System Design with an intake 18 seats from 2013.

The department is concerned to impart smart education through the process of design, development and application of manufacturing systems and related processing techniques with an ideology to meet different challenges. The department is also committed to disseminate the most up-to-date drift in mechanical core industry. This ensures flourishing career for scholar with foremost core companies. The department activities accompany with an instance of innovation, variation and exaggeration to extend nurturing of academics. The department also contributes to the noble cause of furthering our discipline by providing training in various certification programs to student and faculty member.

The department is steadily marching its mission with a strong backbone of members of faculty satisfying the student staff ratio of 15:1. Our faculty members are determined and have good in attitude. The teaching and research mission of the Department encompass a wide range of areas, including Social Networking and Knowledge engineering.

The department possesses well-equipped hi-tech laboratories that provide excellent facilities for teaching, learning activities. All the laboratories are equipped with modern devices related to mechanical industry. Also department manages the Advanced Programming Lab containing design software like Auto-CAD and CATIA, for research activities round the clock with uninterrupted power supply backup, local intranet for the department as well as institute service.

The department organizes seminars, workshops and short-term courses time to time which usually get wide response from the faculties, students and global researchers. The department encourages its member's faculty and students to present and participate seminars, symposiums and conferences on a regular basis to cope up with the changing trends in mechanical engineering.

Our objective is not to merely produce professionals capable to serve their own needs, but endeavor to serve the society with great concern for human values.
